3D scanning of a 3D printed capital @ CIMS

IMG_4178 IMG_4152 @ CIMS different modes of digital acquisition (photogrammetry and 3d scanning) is explored. Various 3d scanners are used to capture geometrical data and possibly  appearance data (such as color) of an artifact. This time a Handyscan Handyscan 3D Laser Scanner is used for capturing geometrical data of the 3d printed prototype of a capital of the west block- Canadian parliament project. The original capital was 3d scanned, once the point clouds were transformed to mesh, using Geomagic. After rationalisation of the mesh and reconstruction of the surface a stl file was produced, which was used for 3d printing.
